Norcross Teen Advisory Board Meeting Minutes
Morph (Decorate for SRP) Our Teen Area!
Tuesday, May 13, 2008
4:30-6:00 pm
Five Norcross teens decorated a purple cart to make it look like a hot rod car - the Megatron 1000. Grill work was on the front with tale pipes and fins on the rear. The teens made “flames” to come out of the pipes. They also made flames for the sides of the hot rod to appear that the car was moving fast. They used various colors of construction paper, yellow, red, black and more. A former puppet was converted into the driver. The car was complete with a stick shift. There were mud flaps over the back wheels. All teens had a good time cutting and pasting. Lemonade, cookies and chips were eaten in no time! All five teens signed up for the TSRP online.

Study Tips and Chocolate Chips
Tuesday, December 9, 2008
5:30-6:30pm
Nine teens and 3 Teen Reps gathered at the Norcross Branch on 12/9 to discuss exam study tips and eat some chocolate chips. We passed around a variety of books and dvd's with study tips, such as the juvenile dvd "Test-Taking Strategies", and the Teen books "How to Study for Success" and "How to Ace Any Test". Everyone had a chance to give their best test-taking tip, which we have listed below. Then the real fun began, as we passed out plates of chocolate chip cookies, graham crackers, mini-pretzels, chocolate chips, frosting, red hots and sugar sprinkles. Everyone dug in to the task of eating cookies, decorating cookies and then eating them, eating the decorations and just eating. It is amazing how many ways there are to decorate a chocolate chip cookie or a graham cracker. Check out the photos that Diane is posting.
Study Tips:
1. Have a #2 pencil
2. Make a schedule of when to study
3. Get a good night's sleep
4. Eat breakfast
5. Study
6. Write notes
7. Have a study buddy

Seven teens “Morphed” various items including paper, small canvass bags and T-shirts. Popular stencils used were a Mexican Wrestler, a Star, a radio, a car and a deer. Individual talents included smearing colors with fingers and painting extra borders around the subjects. The teens munched on cookies and juice as they focused on their craft.

Hi from Flute Girl
Hi teens and welcome to our Norcross Teen blog. Blogging is new and exciting for me. I can't wait to hear from you guys! And, yes, you guessed it, I'm a flute player-for over 40 years now! No, I won't tell you my age! I have taught many teens over the years and like to work with your age group very much.
So tell me all about yourself. See you at our Morph the Teen Area Event on Tuesday, May 13, 4:30-6:00 pm. Bring all your creativity as we get ready for our part of the Summer Reading Program or SRP as we call it.
