Study Tips and Chocolate Chips
Tuesday, December 9, 2008
5:30-6:30pm
Nine teens and 3 Teen Reps gathered at the Norcross Branch on 12/9 to discuss exam study tips and eat some chocolate chips. We passed around a variety of books and dvd's with study tips, such as the juvenile dvd "Test-Taking Strategies", and the Teen books "How to Study for Success" and "How to Ace Any Test". Everyone had a chance to give their best test-taking tip, which we have listed below. Then the real fun began, as we passed out plates of chocolate chip cookies, graham crackers, mini-pretzels, chocolate chips, frosting, red hots and sugar sprinkles. Everyone dug in to the task of eating cookies, decorating cookies and then eating them, eating the decorations and just eating. It is amazing how many ways there are to decorate a chocolate chip cookie or a graham cracker. Check out the photos that Diane is posting.
Study Tips:
1. Have a #2 pencil
2. Make a schedule of when to study
3. Get a good night's sleep
4. Eat breakfast
5. Study
6. Write notes
7. Have a study buddy
Morph Your T-Shirt or Bag
Morph Your T-Shirt or Bag at Norcross
2:00-4:00 pm
Seven teens “Morphed” various items including paper, small canvass bags and T-shirts. Popular stencils used were a Mexican Wrestler, a Star, a radio, a car and a deer. Individual talents included smearing colors with fingers and painting extra borders around the subjects. The teens munched on cookies and juice as they focused on their craft.
Morph Your Face!

Morph Your Face at the Norcross Branch
(Theatre Make Up)
Thursday, June 26, 2008
2-4 pm
Seven eager teen faces attended the Theatre Make Up session. Our make up artist was Brandy Meadows from the Gwinnett County Schools. She “Morphed” various faces! One male teen looked like he had been in a fight, one looked like an old man, a female teen became a butterfly and another girl became a rainbow. It was very interesting to watch how Ms. Meadows started with one color and gradually added another to it to bring out the features she wanted. All teens enjoyed the event and snacked on Orange Crush drinks and a variety of cookies.
